Volunteer Current Opportunities

APPI Volunteer Opportunity on the Standards Committee of the Professional Standards Board (PSB)

Volunteers are required for consideration as APPI's nominees to represent the Institute on the Standards Committee of the Professional Standards Board (PSB).  APPI will put forward the names of three nominees for this position, and the PSB will make the final selection of the appointee.  This opportunity is open to RPP members of the Institute, who are not serving on APPI Council or the PSB, and who have a good understanding of membership standards and processes for the planning profession, and a strong interest in providing quality certification and ethical processes for the planning profession in Canada.  The volunteer term for this position is up to four years, with a maximum of eight years on the committee.  As the committee is being newly established, the committee members’ terms will be staggered.  The committee will meet monthly, and two of the twelve meetings a year will be in-person, with the remaining ten meetings being hosted virtually. Those interested in this important volunteer opportunity are asked to email MaryJane Alanko, APPI Executive Director ([email protected]), with a statement of interest and a resume of no more than two single-sided pages by May 24, 2024, or if they have any questions or would like to discuss this volunteer opportunity.

APPI is committed to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA) in positions of influence and leadership within the Institute. As such, APPI welcomes responses to this call for volunteers from individuals who identify as First Nations, Inuit, Métis, LGBTQ2S+, persons with disabilities, women and other equity deserving groups.
