On November 9, in recognition of Community Planning Worldwide, the Alberta Professional Plan-ners Institute will present the film: Frederick Law Olmsted: Designing America
Frederick Law Olmsted was among the first to regard landscape architecture as a profession and a fine art. His company’s works include Central Park, Chicago’s 1893 Columbian Exposition, the U.S. Capitol Grounds and hundreds of parks around the continent. This film presents the biography of a man whose parks and preservation are an essential part of American life.
Runtime:55 minutes. A discussion period hosted by the Alberta Profession-al Planners Institute will follow the screening.
