Schools of Planning

Are you a student considering a career in planning? Start with an accredited school.

Accredited Degree Programs

If you are a high school student or post-secondary student and have decided that planning is for you, read about the Application Process for APPI. Student membership will expand your resources and networking opportunities while in school.

Employers in both the public and private sector often hire whomever they want to work as planners for them. Many practicing professionals enter the profession via a non planning degree and acquire the competencies for the planning profession via professional experience and post degree education. Those planners are able to gain certification with APPI with a Prior Learning Assessment Recognition (PLAR) process. For more on certification, go to the Professional Standards Board.
