RPP Proud

The Registered Professional Planner (RPP) professional designation and protected title, is an assurance of a certified, skilled and competent professional planner.

APPI encourages its RPP members to proudly use the RPP professional designation alongside their names, on business cards, in email signatures and on professional social media sites such as LinkedIn.  This further promotes the planning profession and raises the credibility and profile of RPPs.

RPP Pin

All APPI RPP members are issued an RPP pin at the time that they have completed their certification requirements.  If you did not receive your RPP pin, or require a replacement pin, please click here to request one via email to [email protected].

Within the APPI jurisdiction, and under Alberta legislation, only APPI has the exclusive authority to grant the restricted RPP professional designation and protected title, to those members who have completed the certification process and who maintain the relevant standards for ethical and professional competency.  In Canada, labour is a provincial responsibility, and as such the provinces are responsible for the regulation of professional planning practice.  Accordingly, APPI can only regulate the practice of those that are members of the Institute. There are penalties for using the RPP title in the APPI jurisdiction if you are not a member of the Institute, or for using the RPP title outside of the APPI jurisdiction, if you do not acquire Non-Resident membership with that jurisdiction’s PTIA.  Please contact the Registrar of the applicable PITA if you require additional information about Non-Resident membership.
