Urban Planning Field Course- SINGAPORE!

The  Urban Planning Field School would like to invite APPI Members to participate in The Singapore Urban Planning Field Course taking place May 19-23, 2025. This course follows the success of the Barcelona Field Course in May of 2024 in which BC planners took part in an immersive 5-day program in Barcelona that included a talk from the Municipal Institute of Housing, a Superblock Masterclass led by Barcelona's Chief Architect, and a tour of a newly built Housing Co-operative. 

Why Singapore?

Singapore offers a compelling example of urban planning, housing more than twice the population of Metro Vancouver within just one-third of the land area. Although our program continues to develop, we’ll explore their distinctive public housing model, where the government owns 80% of the land, as well as their highly integrated public transportation system and rich cultural history.
