Candidate Members and Their Mentors Virtual Discussion Forum

This session's discussion topic is Public Interest Vs Nimbyism lead by Drew Granson. Drew is a APPI Candidate member and curently works with Foothills County.

As part of the RPP certification process all Candidates must engage in a mandatory minimum one-year mentorship period. The Mentor is a key player in this stage of the RPP certification process, and the Mentor is responsible for ensuring that the Candidate member satisfies the objectives of the mentorship program. To create opportunity for more diversity of views to be discussed and provide a richer experience for the Candidate members and their Mentors, APPI will host a series of voluntary virtual discussion forums for Candidates and their Mentors to come together to discuss core topics including professional codes of conduct and practice, the ‘public interest’ in professional planning, and professional competence in the planning Profession.

The expectation is that both Candidate members and their Mentors will attend this session. While the focus of the discussion will be to support those Candidate members, engaged in the mandatory mentoring period of the RPP certification process, all members are welcome to register and participate in this APPI offering.

There is no charge to attend this session, however registration is required.
